On Saturday 31st of January (20:00) IMMI will host a special screening of the documentary Silenced. The film follows three whistleblowers – Jesselyn Radack, previously of the US Justice Department, Thomas Drake, previously of the NSA, and John Kiriakou, previously of the CIA. Kiriakou was the first to publicly expose CIA’s waterboarding. He is now serving a 30 month jail term as a consequence.
Silenced focuses on the changes that have occurred in the United States in the aftermath of the attacks on September 11th 2001 and the enormously difficult position of whistleblowers.
The film is by the Oscar nominee director James Spione.
Q & A will be held after the screening in which Thomas Drake, Jesselyn Radack and James Spione will participate. Birgitta Jónsdóttir will host the panel discussions.
Entrance is free of charge – first come, first served – free donations are greatly appreciated
